Effects of Coal Gangue Coarse Aggregate on Seismic Behavior of Columns under Cyclic Loading

Coal gangue is the rock discharged from coal mining. Using as coarse aggregate one of solutions for sustainable development construction engineering. Five one-half scaled concrete (CGC) frame columns with different replacement ratios were designed, and effect on seismic behavior under cyclic loading was studied. The test results show that failure main reason reduction in hysteretic performance CGC specimens. Compared natural (NAC) specimen, behavior, deformation performance, energy consumption reduced. However, specimens higher ratio better than a lower ratio. NAC ductility total dissipation specimen r = 100% only reduced by 8.2% 12.8%. In addition, also found ratio, greater shear specimen. It recommended to appropriately increase stirrup design.
